The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is a quasi-official international coordinating organization of national airlines, the predecessor of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which was founded in The Hague in 1919, with headquarters in Montreal, Canada, and an executive body in Geneva. The main role of IATA is to coordinate and communicate intergovernmental policies through air transport companies and to solve practical operational problems.
