Commonwealth of Independent States (former Soviet Union)

The Commonwealth of Independent States (Russian: Содружество Независимых Государств; English: Commonwealth of Independent States; abbreviated as CIS) is a regional governmental organization consisting of some of the former Soviet Union republics, headquartered in Minsk, Belarus, and comprising Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and others.
