The German Science Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, or DFG) is Europe's largest research promotion organization, headquartered in Bonn, and its main responsibility is to fund research at German universities and public research institutes.The DFG provides about 1.3 billion euros annually to promote scientific research, and it has established the Leibniz Prize for outstanding scientists in all fields of science working in Germany. The Leibniz Prize honors outstanding scientists working in Germany in all fields of science.
