Takarazuka Theater

Takarazuka Grand Theater (Takarazuka for short) is the home base of the Takarazuka Opera Company, first opened in 1924, and features grand opera and dance productions, both Japanese historical plays and Western works. It is also the only theater in the world where the entire cast is made up of women, and where even male roles are performed by female actors. The Takarazuka Grand Theater boasts special stage designs, gorgeous costumes, outstanding make-up, and magnificent performances that make every performance a sell-out.
