7 Billion Actions

7 Billion Actions is an initiative launched by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in New York on October 31, 2011, on the occasion of 7 Billion People's Day, a day officially designated by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges posed by 7 billion people and to inspire action by governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals. The purpose of the Day is to raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges posed by 7 billion people and to inspire action by governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals alike.
