Amazon is the largest multinational online e-commerce site in the United States and a pioneer in online e-commerce. Founded in 1995 by Jeff Bezos, the company was initially limited to online book sales, and shortly afterward began to sell a wide range of other products, eventually becoming the comprehensive global shopping site that it is today.
