Volvo is a global leader in the manufacture of commercial transportation and construction equipment and an internationally renowned automotive brand. It was founded in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1927 by Gustaf Larsson and Arthur Gebelsen. Volvo's activities include the manufacture and sale of trucks, buses, construction equipment, drive systems for marine and industrial applications as well as aero-engine components, with a complete range of solutions combining finance and after-sales. In 1999, the Volvo Group sold its car business to Ford Motor Company in the United States, and in 2010, it was acquired by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.
