Tupolev (Russian: Туполев; English: Tupolev) is a Russian publicly traded company specializing in the development and manufacture of aerospace products, formerly known as the "Experimental Design Bureau No. 156" (OKB-156), which was founded by Soviet engineer Andrei Tupolev on 22 October 1922 (product type prefix "Tu-"); in February 2006, pursuant to the decision of Russian President Andrei Putin to establish the "Tupolev Design Bureau" (product type prefix "Tu-"). (OKB-156), or "Tupolev Design Bureau" (with the prefix "Tu-"), established by Soviet engineer Andrei Tupolev on October 22, 1922, and became a subsidiary of United Aerospace Manufacturing Corporation ("UAMC") in February 2006 pursuant to an executive order signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
