The World Bank Group (WBG) is a collective of international organizations headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States of America, founded in 1944 to help overcome poverty by providing low-interest, interest-free loans and donations to developing countries with the aim of creating a world without poverty. Members of the World Bank are required to be members of the International Monetary Fund. Typically, there is a difference between the World Bank, which is usually a combination of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA), and the World Bank Group, which also includes the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
