The World Motorcycle Championship (Grand Prix motorcycle racing, MotoGP) is one of the most important races in motorcycle racing, organized by the International Motorcycle Racing Association (FIMARC), and hosted by the host country of each stage race. The World Motorcycle Championship was founded in 1949 and is divided into three classes based on displacement: Moto 3 (250cc), Moto 2 (600cc), and MotoGP (up to 1,000cc). Teams supported by Japanese manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki have nearly monopolized the MotoGP championship in recent years.
