Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (三井住友フィナンシャルグループ, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, abbreviated as SMFG) is Japan's third-largest financial conglomerate after Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Mizuho Group, which was formed in 2002 by the merger of Sumitomo Bank and Sakura Bank, and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group was ranked 190th in the 2013 Fortune 500 ranking.
