Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. is one of Japan's leading luxury real estate developers, with its origins in the Echigoya clothing store opened by Mitsui Takato, founder of the Mitsui family, in Nihonbashi in 1673, and the real estate division was created in 1914; it became an independent entity in 1941, when Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. was officially established and is wholly owned by the Mitsui family.
