The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien) is an independent, unofficial organization in Sweden, founded in 1739, and consists of 10 departments, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is world-famous for its Nobel Prize Selection Committee, which is also responsible for selecting international prizes such as the Crawford Prize and the Eminov Prize.
