The Japan Football Association (JFA) is the governing body of soccer in Japan, founded in 1921 (Dai Nippon Cuju Association, changed to its current name in 1974), joined FIFA in 1929, was removed from FIFA in 1945, and then rejoined in 1950. The JFA is responsible for the management of the Japanese Professional Football League (J1 League), the Japan League Cup, the Japan Super Cup, the Kirin Cup, and other soccer tournaments.
