The New York Philharmonic is an American orchestra founded in 1842, one of the oldest in the United States, which moved from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center in 1962. The New York Philharmonic has given the U.S. premieres of the Ninth Symphony, the Symphonie fantastique, and other works.
