NASDAQ

NASDAQ, the world's first electronic stock exchange and the first of the world's four major exchanges (the remaining three are the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the London Stock Exchange, and the New York Stock Exchange), was established by the National Association of Securities Dealers of the U.S. on February 8, 1971, to regulate chaotic over-the-counter (OTC) trading and provide a platform for small businesses to raise capital.
