The South American Football Confederation (CONfederación sudaMEricana de FútBOL, CONMEBOL) is the organizational body responsible for the management of soccer in the South American region. Founded in 1916 and headquartered in Luque, Paraguay, its current president is Figueiredo. CONCACAF organizes important soccer tournaments, including the Copa América. The level of the member countries of the South American Football Confederation is the most even among the six major football associations, except for Venezuela, the rest of the member countries have entered the final stage of the World Cup.
