Michelin (loanword)

Michelin, the global leader in the tire industry, was founded in 1889 in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Since the invention of the first detachable tire for bicycles in 1889 and the first pneumatic tire for cars in 1895, the Michelin Group has always been guided by the principle of making products with comprehensive performance in terms of safety, abrasion resistance, and energy saving in terms of tire technology and manufacturing. In addition, Michelin produces rims, steel wires, mobility assistance systems (e.g., PAX system), travel services (e.g., ViAMIchelin, GPS), maps and travel guides.
