The United States Air Force Space Command (AFSPC; U.S. Air Force Space Command) is a command under the U.S. Air Force, established in 1982 and located at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, that is primarily responsible for protecting the U.S. homeland with artificial satellites and intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
