Martell (loanword)

Martell is the world's oldest and most famous brandy, produced in the Cognac region of France's famous Cognac brandy, with Hennessy and Remy Martin as the world's most famous brandy brand. It was founded in 1715 by a young man named Martell from the Island of Jersey, and has been passed down through eight generations. Because of its origin is a small island, the production is often in short supply, so Martell has become a world-class famous wine.
