Lycos was one of the first search engines, developed by Dr. Michael Mauldin and launched in 1995, and was acquired by Terra NetWorks in 2000 for a whopping $12.5 billion, and later by South Korea's Daum Corporation for less than $100 million.Lycos has a comprehensive database, and its search results pages usually has screenshots of relevant websites.
