The Club of Rome, a prominent global think-tank founded in 1968 by Italian academic and industrialist Aurelio Peccei and Glenn scientist Alexander King, has a strong negative outlook that has made it a representative of the "futuristic pessimist" school of thought. "It was founded in 1968 by Curelio Peccei and the Glen scientist Alexander King. Its aim is to raise public global awareness through systematic research on global issues such as population, food, industrialization, pollution, resources, poverty and education, and to urge international organizations and the relevant authorities in each country to reform their social and political systems and to take the necessary social and political action to improve global governance and free humankind from the predicaments it faces.
