The Louvre is one of the oldest and grandest museums in the world, and is known as one of the world's top three museums, along with the British Museum in the United Kingdom and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States. It is also the oldest royal palace in England. The Louvre is located in the center of Paris, France, on the north bank of the Seine River, was built in 1204, after more than 800 years of expansion and renovation to reach today's size - covers an area of about 45 hectares, the building covers an area of 4.8 hectares, the total length of 680 meters. There are six pavilions - the Museum of Greco-Roman Art, the Museum of Egyptian Art, the Museum of Oriental Art, the Museum of Painting, the Museum of Sculpture and the Museum of Decorative Arts. The famous "Venus", "Nica" and "Mona Lisa" are the three treasures of the Louvre.
