Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) is one of the world's first A-list film festivals, held for the first time in 1946 in Marian Springs, Czechoslovakia, with the aim of fighting for peace, the happiness of mankind, the freedom of nations, and the fight against unethical films. The highest prize is the Crystal Globe, followed by the Special Jury Prize, the Liditzer Rose Prize, the Director's Prize, the Actor's and Actress's Prizes, the Screenwriter's Prize, the Photographer's Prize, the Honorary Prize, etc. In 1988, the Chinese film Hibiscus Town won the highest prize of the festival.
