The Carlyle Investment Group (The Carlyle Group; referred to as: Carlyle Group, Carlyle Investment; also translated: The Carlyle Group) is one of the world's largest private equity investment funds, because of its deep political resources, so known as the "President's Club". The group was founded by Stephen Norris in 1987 and is headquartered in Washington, DC. Carlyle focuses on sectors in which it already has experience, including aerospace, automotive and transportation, consumer and retail, energy and power, financial services, health care, industrials, real estate, technology and business services, telecommunications and media.
