Kim Soo Hyun

Kim Soo Hyun (Korean: 김수현; English: Kim Soo Hyun; Japanese: キム・スヒョン) is one of the hottest actors in South Korea at the moment. He was born on February 16, 1988 in Seoul; he made his debut in 2007 in the TV drama Kimchi Cheese Smile; and made his starring role debut in the TV drama Dream High in 2011, where he took home three awards at the KBS Acting Awards; In 2012, he and Han Ga In mainly starred in 'Moon Embracing the Sun', which achieved the highest ratings for a miniseries since 2006 and won the Best Actor Award at the 48th Korea Baeksang Arts Awards; in the same year, his film debut 'A Confederacy of Thieves' became the top grossing film in Korean box office history, and he won the popularity star award at Korea's Cheongryong Awards for the movie, becoming the first actor to achieve the 10-million-viewing film and nationally recognized TV drama in the same year; in 2013, he became the first actor to achieve the top spot for a film and a TV drama with 10 million viewers. In 2013, his first starring role in the movie "The Great Hider" broke eleven box office records in the Korean film industry. In 2014, he starred in the drama "You Who Came From the Stars" with Jun Ji Hyun, and was once again nominated for the Best Actor Award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for the role of the alien Do Min Joon, as well as the popularity awards for the movie and television departments, making him the first winner of the popularity awards for film and television in the history of Baeksang in the past 50 years. With three trophies, he set a new record for the number of awards in a single year.
