KADOKAWA PICTURES, INC. is one of Japan's five major film companies, its predecessor was established in 1942 during World War II, Dai Nippon Pictures Production Company Limited (referred to as: Daiei / Daiei), belonging to one of Japan's wartime system of enterprises. 1971, Daiei was on the verge of collapse, and was later acquired and reorganized by the large Japanese publishing house - Tokuma Shoten; in 2002, Daiei was bought by Kadokawa Shoten; in 2006, it was renamed "Kadokawa Herald Pictures" (Kadokawa Headlining). -In 1971, Daiei was on the verge of closure, and was then purchased and reorganized by a major Japanese publisher, Tokuma Shoten; in 2002, Daiei was purchased by Kadokawa Shoten; in 2006, the name was changed to "Kadokawa Herald Pictures" (Kadokawa Headlining Pictures; KADOKAWA HERALD PICTURES).
