The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is a government agency under the Department of Public Safety and is Canada's leading intelligence agency, established in 1984 and headquartered in Ottawa. CSIS's main work includes security, intelligence, counter-intelligence, counter-subversion, counter-terrorism, electronic eavesdropping, external tracking, wiretapping, and the recruitment and dispatch of intelligence personnel.
