IU (real name: Lee Ji En, 이지은, Lee Ji En) is a South Korean solo female singer, known as the "National Sister", born on May 16, 1993 in Seoul; she made her official debut in 2008 with the song "Maze". Her major achievements include winning the Best Female Vocalist Award at the MAMA Awards twice, being ranked third, eighth, and tenth on the Forbes Korea Celebrity List from 2012 to 2014, and being ranked 19th on the "100 Most Beautiful Faces in the World 2012" list released by TC Candler, a famous American movie review website, at the end of 2012. In 2012, she was ranked 19th in the list of "The World's 100 Most Beautiful Faces 2012" by TC Candler.
