Club Atlético River Plate is an Argentine professional soccer club founded in 1901 and located in Buenos Aires, with its home stadium being the Estadio Monumental. River Plate is the most successful club in the history of Argentine soccer's Primera División, having won 35 championships (as of July 2014).In 2011, River Plate was relegated from the Primera División to the B division for the first time in its history.
