The Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), established in 1990 and headquartered in Daejeon, is the Korean government's nuclear safety regulatory organization, aiming to protect the public and the environment from the hazards of nuclear radiation resulting from the production or use of nuclear energy and to achieve the goal of "Global Nuclear Safety Center" by 2020. It is mainly responsible for the development and implementation of the nuclear safety regulatory system.
