The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is a national veterans' organization in the United States of America, formed in 1913∼1914 by the merger of three veterans' associations that had been established in 1899 just after the end of the Spanish-American War. The organization aims to help veterans enter society, defend veterans' interests, and establish programs for medical care, social welfare, and the protection of women soldiers' rights and interests.
