The International Labour Organization (ILO; abbreviation: ILO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations dealing with labour matters, established by the 1919 Versailles Peace Treaty and as a subsidiary body of the League of Nations, with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and a training center in Turin, Italy, and a secretariat known as the On 14 December 1946, the ILO became a specialized agency of the United Nations; in 1969, it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
