International Geographical Union

The International Geographical Union (IGU) is an organization of geographic academic societies in various countries, a member of the International Council for Science (ICSU), which was formally established in Brussels in 1922.The main responsibilities of the IGU are to promote cooperation and exchanges of geographic research in various countries, to carry out scholarly discussions, and to publish journals of geographic research.
