The French Open is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments in global tennis, the other three being the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open. Founded in 1891, the French Open is the only Grand Slam tournament on red clay, and is the second Grand Slam tournament to be played, usually in May and June each year.
