Daimler

Daimler AG is a German automobile manufacturer and one of the world's largest manufacturers of luxury cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles. Daimler was founded by Karl Benz in 1886 as the first automobile company, and Gottlieb Daimler in 1890 as the Daimler Engine Company, which merged in the 1920's. In 1998, Daimler merged with Chrysler to become DaimlerChrysler Automobiles, which separated in 2007, and the latter is now with Fiat to form the Fiat Chrysler Group. Daimler's brands include Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Maybach, Smart, and Unimog, and it also owns shares in Aston Martin and Tesla.
