Osaka City is located in the western part of Honshu, Japan, situated on the Kinki Plain and facing Osaka Bay. It is one of the designated cities for the Western Central Government and Government Decree of Osaka Prefecture, and is the administrative, industrial, cultural, and transportation center of the Kinki Region, the Keihanjin Metropolitan Area, and the Osaka Metropolitan Area, and the seat of the Osaka Prefectural Office.
