Standard & Poor's (Standard & Poor's, referred to as S&P) is the world's leading financial analysts, authoritative credit rating organizations, in 1941 by the Poole Publishing Company and the Standard & Poor's Statistical Company merged into a headquartered in New York City, whose history can be traced back to 1860, and is now a subsidiary of McGraw-Hill. Standard & Poor's created and maintains the famous Standard & Poor's 500 Index, which is the second largest index in the United States.
