Brazil's Central Electricity Company (Eletrobrás) Brazil's state-owned electric utility, with a federal government stake of 54.46%, was proposed by President Getúlio Vargas in 1954, and has six subsidiaries: Sissever Electricity, Furnas Brasil, Eletrobrás, Eletrobrás, Eletrobrás, Eletrobrás CGTEE Power Brasil, and Brazilian Nuclear Power; it was ranked No. 1,060 on Forbes' 2014 Global 2000 list of companies.
