The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (2016 Summer Olympics) will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to August 21, 2016, i.e., the XXXI Summer Olympics, the first time the Games will be held in a South American city and a Portuguese-speaking city, and is the next Brazilian sporting event after the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
